i work in a detail shop and our suplier just switched the brand of swirl remover that they carried and the new stuff sucks. so i am wondering what kind of products you guys use and also what techniques you use. we pretty much just put it on by hand and use our dewalt buffer to take it off with a black foam pad. any info would be appreciated.

I use 3m swirl remover by hand most of the time, I'll only use it with the buffer if I'm doing a light compound first.

3M or Meguirs are pretty much what I use.

3M Finesse works well as does Meguires products and alot of other top of the line products. The key I found was the Porter Cable 7424 random orbit polisher. Works great with a 70ppi and up foam pad. Yellow foam pads are typically 50ppi and green are 60ppi and are used for buffing. Blue pads are typically 70ppi, black are 80ppi, and white are 90ppi and are used for polishing. The higher the ppi the smoother or finer the foam. You need multiple pads for proper results. Finish it up with some good microfiber towels.
