Mileage, options, condition, mods.....
A for sale ad around here should be a 1000 words essay, we are truck people, not tire kickers. Check out some of the other truck ads to get an idea.
Heck.. read mine for example...

I see through the window it has leather? Did it come with anything else or is it a stripped out WT border patrol truck with leather seats?
This is like pulling teeth....

$2500 tops for a WT around here.
Just for reference, I just bought mine for $5900 last month with 85,400 miles, 2wd though. $4500 isnt a bad starting price.

1976 GMC Sierra Classic
HUGE difference between your 2dr and the OP's 2dr...
Also, you REALLY need to tell us what kind of options you have...
2wd or 4wd?
barn doors or tailgate?
gear ratios?
transmission?
mileage on tires?
amount of tread left?
condition of paint?
etc.
Seriously, you're 21 and you have no idea what would be good in a forsale/feeler ad?
Judging by the info provided in this thread so far and the ONE picture. I would pay $2500.
Also,it looks like you had body work done or a door replaced at one point because your passenger door paint doesn't match the rest of the body.
And I see a bunch of white specs near the passenger door handle. Missing paint?
Buyer: So I hear you have a truck for sale. How much is it?
OP: 4500
Buyer: What kind of truck is it?
OP: It's a green 1997 Chevy Tahoe 2dr
Buyer: What kind of options does it have?
OP: It's green with 137k miles
Buyer: What else?
OP: It's got MT Classic IIs
Buyer: That's it?
OP: Oh yeah, and it's green...
----
Best part about it, is that I can actually imagine the conversation going like that![]()

$2000.
Just a thought, skip telling people it was a gov't fleet vehicle, especially a bush beater for the forest service.
I work for the Gov', in the bush, and in fleet procurement. Not a selling feature.
theres trucks around here with 200k miles and rust everywhere going for 3800 and 4k with vinyl seats and floors

Since you STILL gave us no idea what kind of options you have:
(Power windows? power locks? tilt wheel? AM/FM? CD? Tape? Power Seats? Manual Seats? Tow package? etc.)
A 1995 Chevy Tahoe 2Dr 4WD with; 137000 miles, 4WD, A/C, Auto Transmission, Power Steering, AM/FM/CD stereo, and Alloy Wheels;
Is valued at $2,235 in Excellent Condition, $2,010 in Good Condition, $1,485 in Fair Condition.
Yours falls under the "Good Condition" category.
In my own opinion, $2,500 would be my top price.
Damn... I wasn't far off.
id be interested in a trade. I have a 95 jimmy 4x4. Power everything 2dr. Whats the mpg you get in it?
I just want to sell it outright for cash for a down payment on a 05 2500hd
