    can you swap and 4l60e for a turbo 350 in a 2001 silverado?!?! havein trouble keepin 4l60es in the truck. need something stronger....will a 350 bolt up and work right?!?!?

    Not without a whole lot of work. And why would you want to take several steps backwards? Just get your 4L60E built right.


    Much like alcohol, tobacco, and voting there should be an age requirement for computer usage.

          A 30 year old design that lacks an overdrive or lock-up convertor.

          But, if you do, just pull all that stoopid emissions stuff out too. Drop in a good ole 350 with a 4bbl and give me your old crappy stuff. That way you don't ever have to worry about all that new electric stuff going bad again.


          Seriously though, have it rebuilt right or consider a 4L80.

            i have had them built...but i have tore out 2 trans in a month....one tci and one jet

                i've had the same 4l60e for as long as I've owned the truck, 45,000 miles, i've towed with it, i have a very heavy foot at times, i've offroaded it.... and it works perfectly, and its nothing special. Something isn't right here...

                      When I said "built" I meant by a good reputable tranny shop that builds specific to your application.

                        I know guys that have had both (TCI and Jet) and either broke or they hated them from day one.

                              i gotta allison transmission with 20,000 miles on it....ive been towing, stompin out the pedal, offroading and still had no prob. i also slapped a power shifter on there its off the hook
