  • Lucas Oil Stabilizer in Full Synthetic Oil?

Do you think it would be ok to run Lucas Oil Stabilizer in Full Synthetic Oil? I am due for an oil change and i was thinking about running Lucas. I hit the 160K mark and i want her to keep running as strong as she has. Do you guys run Lucas? Any downside to adding it to full synthetic?

I have used Lucas in my oil before but it was before i switched over to fully synthetic. I think i will run it. Will let you guys know if i have any problems with it. Cannot imagine that i will though. Thanks for the feedback

It's a waste of money. There is no need, nor improvement in adding it to synthetic.

Go see what Bob the oil guy says about Lucas: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm

Don't use it. Why? Full synthetic oil (pretty much any kind) will be enough. I have spent a bunch of time on believe it or not...engine oil message boards and the popular opinion is that additives suck. People mostly argue about which synthetic is the best and this and that blah blah blah
Just use Mobil 1 or Royal P or Amsoil 5w30

I forget where I saw it, but some dudes added some Lucas to a differential and it foamed up and heated up more than regular CONVENTIONAL ninety weight.

There is a thread on this site demonstrating that.
It is interesting and i will not use it for my diff, but
A reciprocating engine does not whip the oil like that,
except in the oil pump, but it is temporary and is not continuous like that in a differential.
I wouldn't use it in synthetic, because synthetic is enough, but for conventional
i never had a problem with using it.

And my area of the world all driving conditions are considered
severe duty, so it's like an acid test for what works and what doesn't.

I toasted a set of lifters in my old 350 camaro due to lucas additive, prior to that oil change, then engine ran perfect.

But then there are Lucas electrical products used in British cars.

We sold a lot of the regular stuff to local mechanics. They all swear by it. I used a qt for every other oil change on my truck and never any issues. I only ran dino in it though.
