  • 350 Tbi cam

    Hello,
I'm building a 350 TBI for my s10 truck, I was wondering; whats the maximum amount of lift I can run with the stock 350 tbi (L05) heads? I have an edelbrock 3704 TBI intake, comp cams extreme energy computer contolled cam kit(12-249-4) (.434 int/ .444 ex) and stiffer valve springs.

you may not even need those springs for that cam.

I think I could get away with running that cam on the stock valve springs, but I'm gonna change them anyway because I want to be able to turn that motor up to 5000rpm; and that would be asking alot of the stock valve springs. But the only thing i'm unsure off is if the stock L05 heads can handle that much lift.

IIRC, .480 is MAX lift. im not 100% on that, but 99.9

.480 is max lift on the springs. I'd never run .480 of lift on those springs though even if they were brand new. With a good set of springs on unported l05 heads, you could easily run a zz4 or 845 grind cam. After porting and even better springs+screw-in studs....well I've come across a few guys with cams in the .555 range.
1995 rclb 2500. full custom exhaust, 97 f body lt1 cam, fully ported 193 heads, open tbi spacer, ported stock intake, self tuned, built 4l60e with 2500 stall/vette servo/shift kit. Roughly 340 hp and stupid amounts of tq.

Shouldn't have to change pushrods either

TBI heads handle a MAX of .480. I would look into upgrading the springs though.

the springs that come with that kit wont work well for the tbi heads?
