  • Any benefit in swapping a 700r4 with a 4L60E?

1991 K2500 6 lug. I had a Jasper reman unit installed last summer. Not real impressed with it. Is there any benefit to switching to a 4L60 other than losing the TV cable? Would I have any fitment issues? Or am I better off saving up for a Raptor trans from PATC?

No, that wouldn't be a good idea at all. You'd need electronics/PCM to control the 4L60E, and the later model (1991 included) 700R's are just as stout as the 4L60E's.
Contact ProBuilt Automatics (PBA on this forum) and ask him about rebuilding your 700R4. He builds some of the best 700R4/4L60's in the country.
