  • Which Transmission do I have ?

2010 Silverado 5.3 with (MYC) 6 speed automatic. I want a deep transmission oil pan. One site I found said this was a 6L80 transmission but part of the description did not sound like what I have. I have not seen a listing on any site for a pan for this transmission anyway. Can you give me a little help? thanks

Disregard that. The source is sketchy. I cant find anything.

Yeah I was going to tell him it was a 6L80E (because that's what I thought the Silvys used)...but then I found out they have the 6L60E, 6L70E, 6L80E, and 6L90E...

So I just didn't even bother posting

Check your RPOs, might be so new a lot of people don't know them off the top of their head, but anybody in GM can find out.

...Why did we not think of this before

OP, take Quyonmob's suggestion, check your RPO codes in the glovebox.

            6L80E will be "MYC"
            6L90E will be "MYD"

Should be the 6l80e, since the 6l90e came in the trucks with the 6.2l engines.

But like the others have said check the RPO codes.

You most definitely have the "E" on the 6L80E. As they haven't made a non E transmission since the early 90s
