I can't give you a positive answer or exact location, since i do not have the schematics for your truck in front of me. Judging from what you are describing, it sounds like your lighting circuit is backfeeding somewhere. I had this problem on one of my import trucks before where it had a similar symptom...the FRONT parking lights would illuminate when the brakes were pressed. The cause of my problem was basically corrosion in my rear lamp socket. It was causing power to backfeed to the parking lights, the resistance causing the dim appearance of the lamps. I would start by checking all of your bulbs/sockets, making sure none are burnt out or have corrosion. If that fails, check your fuses and flasher relay for corrosion. I don't think your headunit could cause this, but if it's easily accessable and all else failed, double check your wires anyway. I hope you get to the bottom of this...on the positive note, at least you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn off your blinker! Aloha.Originally posted by LilMule
Ok problem. When my head lights are on my right turn signal doesnt work and when the lights arent on my ilumination turns on with the break lights and the turn signals causing a kewl looking but not very good flashing of everything in my truck does any body have any idea on that could be wrong i just installed a new head unit and could the fact that the stereo does not have illumination be causeing this.
