Anyone ever take out their glovebox and make a new fiberglass one with a place for the HU and other goodies? Ever thought about it?

mad up a stainless one for my camaro for the HU and a couple of toggle switches. polished it up and it worked real nice. had a pioneer unit w/remote. what is real good people could not believe that that factory 67 AM radio that was in the dash sounded so good

That's Sweet. I am guessing that you used a remote to control your HU, did you have any problems with that? I wish I could just mount something like that but i need to keep room in there and might as well get rid of the factory cardboard one.

Do you often find yourself fiddling with the controlls on the HU a lot? That was my only major concern about mounting it in the glove box. It also kinda sucks that I would be spending money on a cool HU that I will rarely see oh well.

all the controls that i mess with can be changed via remote(volume, bass, treb, change station or track) and putting it into your glove box can act as a theft deterant. it would really suck if someone stole that cool HU

I want to get a DEH-P740MP for my truck. Do you think will be enough or do I need a external EQ also?
