That depends on a lot of things. What music do you listen to? Are you going with 8's,10's or 12's? How much bass do you really want?

I am going to go with a couple of 10" and I listen to dance/electronic music.

I say go with the sealed box. Requires less space than a ported.

If space is an issue go sealed...but if you can fit it I'd go ported....my ported box plays any kind of music I want and play it damn nice....

From experience working at two different audio shops, the ported boxes have seemed to do better. I can usually make one ported sub sound more like 2 or 3 of the same subs sealed with the same amount of power. If your just looking for a good sound quality then go with the sealed box to save room. If you want it to rock your brains out, go with ported! I listen to just about everything, I had three tens in a 3 cubic foot box ported, tuned to 32 hertz in my reg. cab 89 and it was plain stupid. ood luck with your install

I happen to like sealed enclosures. Thats all I have used in my vehicles ever since high school. That was close to 15 years ago now. Damn, now that I think about it, I am getting too old. I'm depressed

    YOU ARE OLD!

I have ported and unported in 2 different vehicles
    the 2 12s I have sealed slam like a mutha f...
but the single 12 I have ported is louder with 1/3 the amp,but doesnt hit quite as hard - the trade off for me was space on the single application
both to me are fun - as all good bass should be
