Well, for my second fiberglass project, I did kicks for my 6500's. They will house the 6.5 and the tweeter.
Not sure If Im going to paint or carpet them. I would rather carpet them because of how hard painting is, but I can not find the unbacked carpet that parts express sells in light gray. If anyone can find it for a reasonable price, please post or PM me.
Now for the pictures.

That looks awesome. It may be a bit of a challenge to use the old emergency brake, though.

Yeah, I'm paranoid about passengers with the q-pods as is.
Nice looking work.
What about using vinyl? 3 way stretchable heat formable will conform easily to the smaller contours. BTW...where did you get the tear drop shaped baffles? I like those.

looks like enough room on drivers side, that you wouldn't step on them, but i'd be worried about the passenger side.

They look really good. I will be doing mine over again and laying them out like yours. right now they're off axis and firing straight across. The music seems like its hiding under the dash. the horns bring them up, but the mids could be improved...
Nice photos
yea those stick out kind of far but look good none the less. word of advice if you do this again, drill holes in the plasitc. I noticed you scraped it up a little bit to give a better hold from the resin to the plastic, but if you drill holes the resin will get a hold from the back of the plastic and can reduce resonance of the fiberglass does come undone a little from the plastic. what speakers are going in there?

It doesnt get in the way of my foot. I can have my left leg fully extended to the left of the brake pedal, and still use the pedal without hitting my shoe. I wear a size 12 shoe.
E-Brake goes down ALL the way.
They are very sturdy, and with the grilles, light kicks dont hurt them at all.
eDi 6500's are in there, powered by a nine.4. They sound great. I will have the finished pics on friday when the new digi-cam arives.
I used a router and table, and a scroll saw for these.

The kicks I bought were from a GM parts dealer. They came new and factory sealed for about $13 per kick. I kept those, and fiberglassed the old ones.
These bring it up and fill the soundstage. It doesnt seem like the music comes from either side, like its just there, hard to explain.Originally Posted by TribalVision
