Ok, over the weekend the girlfrind was playing around with the Faceplate to my Pioneer HU, and some how got something stuck in it, the Actuall cd player. So I had to take the whole thing out and apart, while it was out I decided to clean it up a bit, solder all the wires, tape it up etc etc. When I went to hook everything back up the sub would bump on its own, turn the music all the way down and still the sub is bumping, kinda like a hertbeat. lol (bestway I can put it) Not very loud just constant. So I un-hooked the rca Cables and it stoped, pluged the red in works fine, pluged the white in started that thumping again.

Could the RCA cables be bad?

prior to all this when I was taking the HU out two wires touched each other and blew the Radio fuse, and the Dome light fuses. Thats why I decided to solder everything up.

sorry to make it so long, But what could be the problem here? Thanks

    Re: Weird Sub Problem

Unlikely but possible that the RCA cable came in contact with something and damaged either the HU, the amp, or the RCA.....this is more liiely to happen if the unit is on when you try to plug in the interconnects. Did you try plugging the white RCA (which you stated works fine) into the other input/output to verify that it is the cable. Also, no huge loss if one side is bad on the HU.....you can buy a y interconnect and just use one channel to the sub, which is usually preferable for a single sub if your HU does not output a mono signal into both sub channels. Now if it turns out to be an amp input, well.......

    Re: Weird Sub Problem

Did some playing around trying to isolate the problem, its not the RCA nor do i think its the HU. I played with the ground wire a little bit, and for some reson or another it dosnt thump anymore, but now I have "Noise" in the speaker say when the vloume is all the way down.

Could this be a ground problem?

    or has the Amp Gone?
