Here recently there has been something funky going on with my truck, like it has a seperate alarm system in it. When i am driving down the road my dash lights and exterior marker lights and tail lights will start flashing and will go on til I shut the truck off, then it will go crazy for another 10 minutes then shut off. I have looked everywhere for the Alarm box and can't find it to take it out.

When I bought this truck used the dealer gave me no remotes or anything.

    I have a 2000 Silverado.

    Thanks

    Roach

    Re: Alarm question

Take out the 2 7mm screws on the panel where your knees are when youre driving. After that there should be a metal plate held on by 4 bolts. Take those off and remove the plate. You should see a bunch of wires coming down from the steering column. Thats where 90% of the alarms out there get there power. See if you have any wires coming off that that dont appear to be stock. Definetely sounds like theres an alarm on it and they just cut the wire for the siren.

Thanks for the info. I did find a sticker that says DesignTech on it. When I find the alarm I will give them a call and see what it going on...
