ok i'm looking for an amp that can push around 250-300 rms for a while without getting so hot to the point it shuts off. The amp i got right now can run for about an hour then shuts off because of the heat. What are some good options? thanks

Look for a good class D amp! Look in to a Kicker kx4001 mono, it runs at around 400watts but most that i have seen test out a little higher they really under rate thier stuff. My question is are you asking for a total of 300rms for both subs or per sub?

    Mtx ta4501 is certified at 500x1 @2ohms
    kicker kx6001 is rated at 600x1 @2ohms

    both mono!!

Directed 1100d at ikesound.com. Only $133.95 shipped. Maybe alittle too much power but you can always turn the gains down, and you will have room to upgrade in the future.
I have mine pushing 500 to each of my Type-Rs and I couldn't be happier.

What brand amp you running now?

Also, what gauge wire is running to it?

And to note, the Directed doesnt seem like a bad deal either. Seems almost too damn cheap to be true, lol.
