Need some receiver/amp/speaker help

I recently bought two Kicker 10" speakers in boxes from my friend that go behind my seat. I now need to buy a cd stereo and a buddy of mine said he would give me his Pioneer cd/radio that is a couple of years old for free. It is probably 40x4 watts or around there; would this power the two stock dash speakers and the subs pretty good? I also got a cheapo wal mart 80 watt amp for free I could use if I'm desperate.

Basically, are pioneers any good (its free), and is 50x4, or near that, enough power to run the speakers? If not, would it not be wise to use the 80 watt amp?
Sorry for the length, but I dont know much in the line of audio. Thanks.

The head unit will be enough to power the front speakers, but not the subs. You will need an amp. But....I don't think that 80 watt amp is going to cut it. That wouldn't even be enough for 1 of them.

The deck will not power the subs worth a crap. The stock speakers will sound better than the stock deck, but don't go enter a contest or something. What kind of 10's are they(Solo's,comp's,Vr's)?

I'm not going to want them to rattle my brain or anything like that, I dont usually listen to my radio loud. Got the radio, its a Panasonic 40x4 Supertuner etc., seems like it is low powered, but it was free.

When these speakers were installed in my friends 96 c1500, they had the stock radio and it powered the speakers really well. I was thinking of just not using the B-pillar headrest speakers at all.

Would I actually be alright since I dont want it super loud or hard hitting, just some more lowend, with using the amp?

The box says they are kicker st103, round speakers, dont see any other
labling to ID them.

Edit: my other friend says he will give me his Clarion Dx515 50x4 for free, its a little older, I might use it.

running subs off the headunit would be worthless, you would barely be able to hear them at all. You might be able to hear them a little running them off the amp, but still, not much. You will need to send at least 120 W RMS to each sub for the lowend to be decent.

So I'm probably going to need a 250+ watt amp to get any lowend whatsoever? Damn. I have hooked both speakers up to a home stereo to make sure they worked, it was only 60 watts peak and it drove them really well, they packed a punch. I am mixed on what to do.

What are some lower priced amps that put out 250+ watts and where would they fit in a reg. cab truck?

Well...you could wire them up to that free amp and see how they sound, then if they barely put out sound then you can decide to buy an amp. Doesn't hurt to try.
