I have the factory tape deck in my 95 tahoe, and a friend of mine has the Slave CD player, but she also has an aftermarket Deck. She said I can have the slave, if it'll work for me.
    Will it?

you will need the wiring harness that goes from the slave to the deck out of her vehicle...i had taken one out of my 97 gmc that i had and put it in my buddies 95...just needed to run that wire from the cd to the deck. worked fine.

Well, I'm sure she has the connector, and it's probably not connected because she has a Kenwood deck, so I'm sure it's probably just hanging in there..it should just "plug" right in right? no splicing needed?

of the mid90-s and up style, yeah...there should be an Aux button i believe...if the cable isnt there i can look to see if the one my friend had in his truck is still around because i never put my cd player back in when i got rid of the truck and he's running a full aftermarket system in his now. let me know and i'll try and help ya out.

I appreciate the help! I'll let you know. I'm supposed to swap stuff on thursday night, so, I'll let you know what I find (or don't find)
Be cool if it works out for me, because I don't want a fancy aftermarket deck, because I only really listen to the radio, but it would be nice to have just a factory CD deck, so if I wanted to, I could.

Re: Will a factory slave CD player just plug right in?

i highly doubt it would be hacked unless the whole radio was hacked up by A HACK RETARD!
mine was realy easy to remove... im sure instaling it wouldnt be to hard as well.......

id say try using a coat hanger bend it around to snake it thru the rear plastic then once its ran tape or zip tie to the wire to the hanger and simply slowly pull it thru....

shouldnt be to much of a problem to do.
