Ok, so me being the retard I am realized that the Ascendant Audio Assassin was only a single voice coil @ 4 ohms... this won't do cause I need 2 ohms. Right now I really dont want to think about car audio any more.. so I'm leaving this one up to you guys.. I need something that will do well in around .8 cubic feet sealed, and does well with only 280 watts rms @ 2ohms. SQ is more important than SPL
Heres the links to all the poll choices... Let me know what you picked and why or leave your own suggestion. Goin in a reg. cab so the sub cant be too deep...under $120 ish.

dayton
i'd drop the jbl and orion and choose between the other 3.
yeah i think im gonna go with a dayton... there is actually a guy that sells em right over in Utah soo ill probably order from him instead of parts express in the hope of cheaper shipping.. should i get the high fidelity or high output... im only gonna be giving it 280 rms... hah.. some of the values change to make the HF require a bigger box... if you could look at these values?

1st choice = Dayton.
2nd choice = Kicker.
I'm not a fan of the Orions, and don't care for the JBLs. Don't have any experience with the Crystal's, so I can't comment on them.
I have an older 12" Kicker Comp VR that I have been very satisfied with, but I'm planning on running 2 12" Dayton HO's later this summer. I've heard good things about them, and for the money, they're worth a try!

you can find IDQv2 online for 120ish. Better driver than any you listed with exception of the Dayton.
Cvr
Maybe its a little late but have you thought of Boston Acoustics? I love mine. It is a G2 and it rocks.

I have used several comp vr's and have been very pleased. i would also suggest buying off of ebay. u can get a comp vr 10" for probly $60-$70 shipped. i got mine from ebay and have had no trouble at all with them.
You may want to look at both versions of the Dayton; the HF and the HO (same price). In case you are not aware, unless I'm mistaken, the HF version requires a larger enclosure than does the HO version - just in case you have space constraints. The Parts Express tech people can help you with any questions.
88 Extended Cab
Might I suggest you look at the 11Kv.2 sub by Elemental Designs.
This would fit your need nicely as well.
Out of your options Id go with the Dayton (whichever version fits your box size/ power specs)
Dave.

lol well my mind has flip flopped around on this alot, and im on vacation right now... until the 31st of july and im not around my truck so i figure i wont make a decision until i get back.. if the new Image Dynamics arent in production like their dude told me they would be i think im gonna just splurge on the sound splinter RLi 10... i heard somewhere image dynamics builds the eD stuff, is that true? ive never heard anything bad about ID so how could eD be that bad?

ed builds ed stuff. They may use some of the same suppliers as ID as far as baskets and things like that go, not sure.Originally Posted by Unrthdxdream

I havent heard any of those
but Crystal usally give more value than most brands

ed doesn't not build any of their own stuff. it is all from buildhouses elsewhere.Originally Posted by Vince
