Newb w/ questions

Okay, I have an 06 silvy with the bose system and xm. However I no longer subscribe to xm, I'm wanting to change out my head unit for a dvd/navi/tuner/mp3 player. But I'm afraid I will lose the quality of sound that the factory unit puts out. The factory stereo sounds great crisp, clear and actually thumps a little, in my past experiences the factory stereos always sound good until you replace the head unit.

Any thoughts?

It will just get better. IMO the factory head unit and system sounds like crap. Just make sure that you pick out pieces that will go good together. In other words the Blose speakers may not match well with your new headunit, but they are worth replacing anyways. In a perfect world, new front speakers, new head unit, some deadening, a sub, and a good 4 channel amp is a great first budget system and a HUGE improvement over stock.
