I have Infinity 60.07 in both the front and read doors. You can get 6.5 in the rear doors as long as the magnet isn't too big.

What size speakers can i fit in the rear door of a crew cab? I just put a 6" component set in the front doors now i'd like to do the same in the rear doors.

the rear doors are a total biatch. the window, when rolled down, makes it even more difficult to put something good back there. i was going to put my extra set of mb quarts components back there but finding a place for the crossover blows. plus getting the boots off the doors to run the wires is a pain in the ass. i'm just going to run some 6.5" co-ax's and use the stock wires that are already running through the boots. a custom set of door pods would make things a bit easier.
I don't know what kind of speakers you're using but, I have help several friends installed 6.5 in the rear doors of their Crew Cabs. Like my above post, the window motor is their and will be in the way, only if you install speakers with a massive magnet. As for the crossovers, mine were installed in my B pillars and several others have installed their's inside the door panel using double stick tape. Just map out everthing and take your time and the install will not be that hard.Originally Posted by special_k

Gotta dig this up! I'm looking at getting a set of Polk db6500 component speakers for my front doors. With a mounting depth of 2 5/16", will I be able to use the same speakers on the rear doors? I'll be putting them on a RFP4004. That amp should be plenty big enough. I've heard nothing but good things about Polk's. I'm thinking I'll give them a try.
If 2 5/16" is too deep, could someone please tell me the max depth obtainable on the rear doors?
According to Crutchfield and Circuit City, a 6 1/2" db6500 with a depth of 2 5/16" will mount in the rear door. What do you say guys?
i have infinity kapa coaxials right now in my rear doors. but i'm gonna put some Crystal sscs6's back there. i have them in my front doors and now want to go all the way around. as for the tweets, i'll just do the same thing i did with my front doors. (i drilled a 2" hole right above the lock and window controls and slapped the tweeters in there. looks super clean and sound a whole lot better than in the stock position.) everyone will tell you not to bother with the rear doors, but i think it sounds alot better with them than it would without.
My '05 CC has 5 1/4"s in the rear. The douchebag at Circuit City argued with me for 10 minutes telling me that the Infinity coaxials I bought would not fit. He said they had done 100's of them and they were all 6.5".

Well, I bought 2 sets of 6.5". Worse case is I bring the rears back and exhange them for 5.25"
Well, I'll be exchanging them for 5.25"...lol
6 1/2's fit. i took my old mb quart 6 1/2 comps and put them back there till i bought the infinity's.
I don't see how. The door molding hole is a 5.25 and the speaker that's there is the same. I just got back from exchanging them. Shouldn't be a problem. I guess I'll just mount the tweeter below the speaker and somehow mount the x-over around the lower part of the door.
I've got polk/momo 6.5's in all doors of my 07. I love audio/video work, but since this is a brand new truck, and the work my local audio shop did on my saturn turned out amazingly, I'm having them do everything.

The rears may be different if you have the Bose system. I did and my rears are 5.25".
Mine doesn't have the Bose system. Least I doubt it does. The radio that was replaced by the dealership didn't have the Bose name on it.
umm..6'1/2's fit with no cutting, just had to space out the mounting plate a little bit....i think your wrongOriginally Posted by Hugh Jass

I'd just spend the money on making the fronts better instead.

Here's one of the rears from my truck. Unless my tape measure is defective, that's a 5.25" speaker. 6.5's would not fit in my truck without cutting.Originally Posted by Slinky05Crew

The speaker itself is a 5 1/4" speaker, but the hole will accept a 6 1/2" speaker. I tried to mount the 5 1/4" speaker, but needed a bracket. I got to thinking and tried the 6 1/2" in the rears. As long as the mounting depth of the speaker is less than 3" it WILL fit with no cutting at all. I'll take pics in the next few days when I put them in if you don't believe me. I mocked the speaker and moved the window up and down with no problems.
