im looking for a 800 watt rms amp to power 2 10 inch AA Assassins. they are SVC so it needs to make 800 watts at 2 ohms.
ps, i bought a power acoustik amp b/c they were cheap for my speakers and im not to happy with it, so i would like to get a better amp for my subs.
one more thing, do yall think that 5/8 mdf will be okay with these subs in a downfire box?
thanks,
mitchell

use 3/4, you will blow your box apart with 800 watts rms using 5/8.
Yeah either go with 3/4'' mdf or maybe even fiberglassing the inside of the box can get you by for now. Also is it a sealed or ported box? ANd what is the price range you want to spend on an amp? My best friend is a memphis dealer and all i can say is i absolutely love there amps. I have two 2400 watt mojo's, and 4 yellow tops in out projest blazer and they pushed the dd9515 more than easily. Very efficient and potent amps
phoenix gold x600.1 is the amp i was thinking of. and chit, now im going to have to try building the box again.
i was wanting to spend no more then 300 dollars, but want the best amp i can get with that kind of money

PG amps are nice. Everyone says the 600.1 will do around the 800 watts you are looking for. If you have already built your box I would go ahead and use it. 5/8 is only a fraction less than 3/4. You are running tens so the sub chambers probably aren't large enough to worry much about the box flexing. If you used a good wood glue when you built the box it should hold together.
Are you looking for 800 watt amp or 800 watt RMS amp? I have a Kenwood 800 watt amp which powered 3 10" JL w3's if your interested PM me.

800 rms, sorry i forgot that. and yeah i might be interested in it, shoot me a pm with details.
so you think if i reinforce the box with more glue and calk it should hold?
