well my personal favs are Infinity Kappas because they are so cheap compared to other subs adn they sound awesome with the right amount of power. I'm feeding 130 watts to just 1 Kappa 100.3se in my Ext Cab in a .8 Cu ft box and it pounds. I'm about to pick up a new amp and push 280 watts rms to it and then it'll really slam. If you are looking for a great sub for the money I would definitly recommend them. You can pick em up for around 80 bucks each on www.ikesound.com
To mod, or not to mod, there really is no question!
my favorite speakers are RF Hx2s i have 2 of them.... but they are not cheap! they are like $250 a peiece for 10"s at cartoys..... anywhom... but my second favvorite is audiobahn..... and they make a few cheaper speakers.... and so does pioneer....
I have one Rockford HE2 DVC 10" with the old style rockford 150a2 pushing. It sounds good, nice tight low bass that dont bottom out. No i dont hit 150db but it sounds good and i got the $175 dolla sub for half price so not a bad deal, cheap and sounds good enough to me.
