Anyone ever made a claim through their alarm company if you had something stolen? I havne't called audiovox yet but I've got the big code alarm. My Avic-Z1 and Focal sub were jacked last night at in the parking lot at work. 3 am so nobody heard anything since we were all inside cleaning the store. Talked to my ins agent today and since I didn't have it all registared with farmers they cap it at $1500.

The box for the alarm says up to $2500 depending on deductable or something like that.

i can honestly say ive never encountered this. i can see the alarm company saying that there was no way to verify you armed the alarm..

interesting. definitely post back with what happens.

You make a good point, but since they claim this on there product there has to be some sort of claim backup they have to cover something, now what and how much and how is the question?

if audiovox is like Dei concerning this, I hope you sent in the warranty card and had window stickers in place. also, it looks like (for Dei atleast) the guarantee is just for vehicle theft.

does the audiovox box say theft of contents or vehicle theft?

well guys, bad news on this one, got the customer service number and talked to them and it only covers complete vechicle loss. So if you get a $40,000 truck stolen they will give you $2500 depending on some deductible. Almost makes me want to laugh but thinking I've got twice that in audio equipment. Or had twice that in audio equipment anyway. Now back to square one

Farmers caps out at $1500 on stereo stuff if you don't have it listed by the way. IF YOU HAVE STEREO STUFF TELL YOUR INSURANCE AGENT
So an Avic-z1 alone caps that out. before you get to the stolen subs

So if you would have told them they would of covered the entire amount? but since you didn't they cover $1500? I didn't tell my insurance company because i was afraid if i did i would pay an arm and a leg for insurance once they know you have 1000's in sh*t in your truck

that's the deal, another way for them to make more $$$ to invest.

I'm fighting with them now to cash me out on the deal, they are trying to get me to go through their company "ccs" or whatever and the best price they get is $2k for the avic whtn I can obviously get it for cheaper online. we'll see what happens
supervisor is supposed to call me on monday

umm logic? you expect to pay insurance on a $15000 truck (for example), yet you have an extra $10000 worth of **** in it. and when your truck gets stolen, you think they are going to give you $25000.?

they insure you for what your truck is worth.not allowing a bunch of random **** to be inside and assume insurance will cover it.

my frind had a wrx stolen with close to $10000 in the motor etc. they gave him what the car was worth.thats it. didnt matter he had receipts for the extra equip. he never told them causehe knew they would raise his rates.

better hit your insurance up and update that policy before this happens to you.

Insurance coverages vary greatly depending on the company and state believe it or not. I have a 32 Ford Model A sitting in the gargage and my insurance company said i would need to get it appraised before they could even offer coverage being that it is a pretty rare car.
