I would start off with the big three,(being the cheapest) and then see if that helps out at all. And then after that if it doesnt help move on to a better battery and then bigger alt. The big 3 helped out alot on mine.

I have a small system running 400 watts. Afeter a little while of playing i can see my dash lights beginning to dim and the voltage guage on the dash goes dangerously low. In the future I plan on running a bigger system totaling about 1200 watts. To help remedy my issues should I: (A)do the big 3
(B)High output alt.
(C)2nd battery

^i 2nd that...big 3...then get a BETTER battery first....and additional one would only strain teh alternator more if that is what the problem was.Originally Posted by YUKNTUKN22S
400w should NOT cause a dimming issue, my guess is your gains are WAY out of whack
I have absolutely no dimming with the big 3 only and I am running JL amps (1000/1 450/4) which are current hogs.
