It won't keep you from doing anything external. They must be trying to say that it is 2 2500's wired together internally; however, your description is really short so it is rather hard to make anything out of it.

This is a discussion on New Orion 5000D Internall Wired in Parallel? Huh? within the Audio/Video Electronics forums, part of the General Discussion category; I have the new Orion HCCA 5000D and it says in it's manual that it's internally wired in Parallel, but ...
I have the new Orion HCCA 5000D and it says in it's manual that it's internally wired in Parallel, but give no explanation. What does this mean?
EDIT: Will this keep me from running Subs in a Series?

The Orion HCCA-D1200, HCCA-D2400, and HCCA-D5000 amplifiers offer two positive and two negative output terminals for ease of connecting the speakers to the amplifier. Sincethese are mono amplifiers, the speaker connectors are paralleled internally. Each amplifier is stable to 1W.
That's what the manual states...
EDIT: These are Mono Channel Amps

Ah, then it is just telling you that there are extra terminals to wire your dvc sub up to. They are internally connected, ie in parallel. It makes no difference to how you wire your subs.

*I assume you mean stable to 1ohm and not 1w

My guess would be its 2 2500d strapped from the factory
lol that's the samething that M5 said....Originally Posted by jerz02

no its not that, its the second thing M5 said, its basically one set of outputs + and - are y'd off to make two sets of outputs + - and + - gives you ease of wiring.

so what your saying is that the Outputs themselves are wired in Parallel for the amp itself. In other words giving you two outputs for the ease of installation and combining the two outputs internally to make them one. I think I get it know...

Which is actually the second thing I said. I doubt it is two 2500d's strapped as they couldn't then take 1ohm, that was my guess before you gave us details.Originally Posted by sbc2008

Heres a simplified diagram of your amplifier. The outer rectangle is your overall amplifier. The inner gray rectangle is your sub power source, then you have your two leads comming off of it, and y'ing off so you have a total of 4 outputs comming out of the amplifier.
