Sure beats building one, although $150 is a bit steep for wood and carpet.

You have no idea of the concept of box building.

Wow, another off the cuff useless remark.

I, in fact, DO know the concept of box building. I was an installer for 5 years, and have built more boxes than I know what to do with.

5/8 - 3/4 MDF costs about $20-25 a sheet, and to build THAT box above should tale one sheet. Then carpet, glue, cup terminals, screws, glue, sealant, etc should equate to no more than $30 total.

So, like I said, $150 is steep. Thanks for the jump-to-conclusions-and-make-yourself-look-like-a-moron post though, I got a chuckle out of it.

You've bought a box from them before?

I have no personal experience with the boxes they build, just thought it might be a good deal.

Yes I have bought a box from them. It was cheaper when I did though.

Honestly, they are not worth the price. The quality of the box was poor. There shipped the box in cardboard with no protect for the box itself. It wasn't completely sealed up.

Then apparantely you have zero business sense. You also have to equate for shipping, storage, labor, taxes and many other factors. Thank you and have a nice day. Thanks for giving me the chuckle.

No business sense? Wow, do me a favor Mr. 25-year-old and quit while you're ahead.

So far you have shown zero evidence to back your understanding of why a box is priced how it is. Your 5 years as an installer means little. Anybody can be an installer. And what is up with the 25 year old comment? I have been building enclosures for home and mobile use since before i was 12.

So yeah, maybe i should quit while i am ahead. Because you have shown very little.

Then carpet, glue, cup terminals, screws, glue, sealant, etc should equate to no more than $30 total.
I seriously hope you are not saying that you can find glue, carpet, terminals, screws, and silicone for less then $5. If so i ask you to show me where you are finding such materials at such insanely low prices.

Re-read the post, I said $30, not $5. Bottom line, this is why this forum is hated by other forums. I posted something in an effort to help others, and you want to turn around and use it to start a flame war. I could care less about your box building experience, I stated an opinion based on my experience and my opinion is not up for debate.

If anyone looks foolish here, it's you. Next time, practice what your parents taught you when you were in grade school a few years ago: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

Sorry my bad, i thought you were insinuating $25 for the MDF and $5 for other materials for a $30 total.

As far as looking foolish, i don't feel that i look foolish at all. You are the one that brought up that i am 25 and that you had been an installer for 5 years. This forum is hated by other forums? Funny i have never ever heard that. And i frequent many other forums. Care to elaborate on that?

Nope. This thread has already been hijacked and molested beyond it's original intent.

I didn't know they were poor quality. From the pictures they looked decent so without personal experience I can't talk to it.

    Appreciate the insight though.
