today i installed a viper 350hv in a friends 04 ford f150.
everything works good except its not nearly sensitive enough.
Its a service truck so he has 3 tool boxes in the bed with lots of expensive parts in them.
Do I need to install a 504c dual shock sensor (will that be good enough) or what would be good for this![]()
Is it a service type box bed or like the lockable tool boxes?
its behind the cluster, for now its zip tied (dangling) because when we mounted it we couldnt get the alarm to go off at all(except for when the door pin would set it off)
now it go off if you really bang around on it
just the lockable toolboxes one in the front and 1 on each sideOriginally Posted by Dyabolical
If you are worried about someone getting in the tool boxes, use a trip switch.
i was thinking about getting the shock sensors mounted around the rims in case i get jacked like loud...but the shop i had do the work didnt have them in stock![]()

nope it didnt come with any we ordered 3 alarms and they all have the same stuff (harness, led, antenna, brain) its got a plug for the 4 pin shock sensor thou

ok ill check with them, thanks.Originally Posted by RoLL1n D4rK
what about the 504 shock sensor is that a good investment as well?
does it make a big diff?

i would try and mount the brain to a main factory wire harness or a piece of metal tubing.
i usually mount mine behind the headlight switch. and it always seems to work out fine.
Would the 508 dual zone proximity sensor work in ths situation?
I would not recommend the prox sensor. They false ALL the time and are affected by weather, tint, etc....kind of a headache. As everyone recommended id throw a pin in the door of each toolbox and maybe the shock sensor behind the tailight if there is access to the bed.

ok we are also installing one in a box truck, he has problems with people cutting his gas line a stealing his gas
what do you think about installing the 508d in this.
They are usually parked by themselfs at his shop.
I figure that will be the only way to prevent people from doing this

You can try but they seem to fals all the time. Anytime i have ever installed one for a customer i really try to have them go another route. But if theyre set on it i will show them where it is mounted and ill adjust it at the shop but after that theyre on their own, and they can adjust it themselves becasue itll never be right. They come back every week for adjustment
