Alright, you didn't really say what year of truck you were putting them in or anything but I have a 2000 Sierra and I was the same way as you. I still hardly know anything about audio install but my front door speakers both were blown and I bought a new pair and replaced them myself. First you have the little triangular piece of plastic that is at the top right hand corner of the door panel, next to the bottom right hand side of the window as on the drivers side door, that pops off. Then you need to take the section off that the power locks and windows connect to, it also pops right off. Then you disconnect the wires that are running to that. Last thing that pops off is the plastic piece around the manual lock, pop it off then you need a socket for the rest. There are 3 screws, one by the handle thats on the door that is set in place. Another at the bottom of the door panel, and one more right beside the actual door handle used to open the door. Once all those are out the door panel will lift up and out and there you have it. You will then be able to get to the speaker and replace it easily. Once you start pulling the panel off there are 2 more wires that you have to disconnect, one is for a little speaker in the door panel and the other is the light bulb in the bottom of the door that comes on when the dome light comes on. Sorry if that was really confusing, I have no pictures and that may not be a good explanation but its the best I can do. Just wanted to try and help you out a bit cause I was in that same situation with no one to help. Good Luck
