Do you take off the speaker grill
    or
do you have to take off the whole door panel?

The entire door panel has to come off. Its not too hard but it does take time. You should only need normal tools to do it. I did mine on a '06 ECSB. No way around it the panel has to come off. You will see the inside of the grill when you get it off and know way you had to remove the door panel to get to the speaker. Also go to Best Buy and get the GM adapter speaker wire plug in kit. That way your new speakers will just plug in and no hard wiring them :) Best of luck it will be worth it in the end stock GM speakers suck in these newer trucks. My new Infinity's sound 100% better!

Re: how to install door speakers?

There should be some bolt around the pad area, also take the cover off by the handle, pop the lock cover off too. Once you start in on it it should be easy to figure out. Sorry that I cant remember the exact process but it was not too bad just not that fun. Take your time and it will work out. I think I found "how to" on here or crutch field's site. There should be a guide on-line somewhere.....best of luck!
