Well you can lif the seat and try to get it to fit. Good luck though.

01 2500HD 4X4, Ranch hand bumper, 4 10" RE SE's ported to 31 and some change with over 5.2 cubes, JBL BPX 2200.1, K&N, GTO resonator with dual dumps. BB tuned.

I actually think I have a design to fit Kicker L7 8" under the front seats. I don't have power seats, that maybe why. I'm going to draw them in Solidworks when I get a chance.

If somehow you can fit it under the front seat you need to remember that the sub needs at least 3 inches between the back of the magnet and the box. I tried to fit 2 12inch alpine type R's under the back seat of my 94 and had the same problems.

I was told this by the guys at onlinecarstereo. they said to make sure i had anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 inches and thats what i have gone by since. Idk about the other way you mentioned, if it works then i can probably custom fit Type R's in my box.

They should stick to sales and leave the installation to the pros :-)

I like the thought of doing it but I have power seats so it's a moot point for me.

the only way i forsee this working is if you cut out the insides of the bottom of ur seat, or lift your seat a few inches...cool concept....just not something i see working...stick with what works, under the back seat (extended cab), behind the seat (regular cab)

....if it ain't broke, don't fix it....

X2^^^^ again I have power seats but, I even tried to measure for a powered sub and no go. That MIGHT be an option for you though.

I realize you're trying to utilize what you have. I just thought I'd throw it out there just in case.
