Hey guys I have an 05 silverado single cab, no onstar, bose or any of that just one speaker in the door one in the pillar behind your head. I am installing kicker ks6502.2 6-3/4" component speakers now here is the question. I am mounting the midrange in the door but where should I mount the tweeter? I've heard the dash, the pillar by the windsheild, in the door 6' away from the midrange. I wanna know what you guys think? I just want all around awesome sound. Thanks in advance guys!!

I install them in the door where they came in the 99-02 chevs.
Same here I did mine in the door in the factory locations
Did you guys mount the speakers just like the factory ones or did you have to build a special baffle and then mount them to that?

I use 4 tek screws and drill them into the door
Anyone have pictures?

Thanks for the sig 454SS
There's nothing really to see in a pic, IIRC unclip the old speaker and housing, cut the wires close to the connector, solider the wires to the new speaker, stick it in the hole, self tap four screws into the door through the speaker mount holes done.
I timed the last truck...8 min for both doors including removing panels.
I work on alot of trucks.
When I redo mine im going to put mine in the factory tweeter location on the pillar. Thats where my bose ones are now

Not much room at all. Very few tweeters that i know of will fit in there, the factory ones are real small.
The a-pillar tweeters will raise your soundstage but I prefer them closer to the driver, just sounds better imo
Thats what I thought. that'll be something else for chevyboy to consider. I had a rainbow 3way comp set in a 95, tweeters glassed into stock location and 6.5s and 4" mid glassed in the bottom of the door panel. Felt like the sound was all in the floorboard, and I didnt like it. Unless I stuck my head in the floorboard and it sounded great. Something else to think about.

OP-
Is your truck the work truck edition or does it have the factory component system with a separate tweeter above the midrange speaker?

04 GMC
system in the works:
Pioneer DEH-940MP, RF T8002 on Peerless XLS 8" midbasses, RF T8004 on DLS Iridium 3" midrange and tweeter, RF T40001 on 2 Adire Brahma 12s, RF 360.2º processor
Also, are you staying with the stock HU? If so, the components really wont be that amazing unless you amp them. The wattage they need to perform well cant be provided by the stock radio.
