This is driving me insane! When ignition is on/driving/any and all conditions the sound and lights on the head unit cut out. The memory remains. Sometimes the clock sets back to "1:00". I can usually hear static, but not always. The crazy thing? All the buttons still work; if I change stations while it's off, when it comes back on its on that station, change volume, etc.

Sometimes it will come on on the home setting, and I have to hit the power button, immediately after which it turns off. Does that about four times then it will work. It is intermittent, I usually can't get more than a minute of listening time before it cuts out and it's cut out more than it's on. Especially bad on long trips, it seems to know when I am getting on the interstate and is scheming against me.

I have checked the fuse for the radio, pulled the head and tested all of the wires, everything looks good. Out of ideas.

Additionally, when I turn on my brights on, all power cuts out and I hear a click or two and then everything comes back on but with low beams. This is new.

Anyone heard of this nonsense? Google has not been helpful

It sounds to me like it is 'shorting' out.
