Ok. Im not an expert on car audio so I need some help. Im looking into buying two Sony 10" Xplod XS-L101P5 subwoofers and a Sony Amp (not sure which one) to power them. I want to know if the Sony Xplod 1000 watt 2-Channel Amp will do the job. Im not a hard core bass person, just want something better than the weak stock speakers. Also, are the Sony subwoofers and amp a good brand choice? Please let me know if this setup will work. Here are the specs of each:

--Capable of handling 1,100 watts peak, 300 watts RMS (continuous)
--10" compound-polypropylene cone with advanced P5 Series pentagonal cone geometry for dramatically reduced standing-wave production and exceptional rigidity
--Optimized for use in small, sealed enclosures
--Gold-plated binding posts for superior signal integrity
    --Frequency response: 18Hz - 2.5kHz
    --Sensitivity: 88dB
    --Impedance: 4 ohms

    --780W peak, 380W RMS (continuous) x 1 @ 4 ohms, bridged
    --165 watts RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms
--Stereo or bridged-mono output; tri-way capable
--MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) power supply and output devices for clean, steady power
--50-300Hz variable crossover for use in subwoofer applications
--Selectable 10dB bass boost centered at 40Hz
    --Preamp and speaker-level inputs
    --Gold-plated connectors

btw, if you get those subs, you probably want to send them a bit more power than that amp offers. You want a good 600watt amp. If you're on a budget I'd just get the JBL 600.1

    Sub wise... might I suggest 2 12" JL 12w3v2's? Or 2 12" Image Dynamic IDQ v2's.

Im not looking to spend a ton of money on a system, nor do I want a piece of sh!t one. I just need something better than the stock thats at a decent price and will work.

So, how much do the JL 10W3v2 subs go for? Also I look up there site and the 600.1 model isnt listed? How much does the amp go for?

    The 600.1 is $209 at ikesound.com. I paid $125 each for IDQ 10's

The 600.1 runs around 200$ and the jl 12w3v2's are in that same range. If you don't really want alot of bass you could easily get away with one sub.

Also consider Orion subs the XTR series XTR, XTR3, XTRPro excellent subs. Not the "hot new thing" in super extreme competition subs but you're not looking for that.
These subs play loud, low and clean. Great for daily driving and kick@ss music.
They can be found on ebay new and used way cheap.

Plus, Kicker Comp and CompVR series. Same as above.

    Here's a couple of links.
