hold the tires down =/

I was wondering if anyone knows some ways I can get some weight on the back tires so they will grip on my truck. It seemed cool at first to be able to smoke the tires through first into 2nd but now even when I drive slow and it shifts it loses traction. If I try to make a run down the street it seems to feel like the rear end slides from 2nd to 3rd while it has no traction. I thought about putting a fuel cell under the bed where the spare tire is and removeing the other tanks but I dunno where I could get a fuel cel that would fit there. Also a friend told me about some mat u can lay in the bed and fill with water that is supposed to distribute weight or something I dunno I haven't been able to find one yet.

what kind of tires are you running? i just switched from RoadMax 295/50R15 to Pirelli Scorpions 255/45R18's and it's like night and day. before, expecially in rain, i had to feather the gas to take off, or nothing but spinning. better tires offer better traction, even in a truck.

they are some all terrain tires I've had for a while the problem is my rims are 16 1/2 so I haven't been able to find any like street tires in that size.

lol, your not in a 16.5. your either gonna have to go down to a 16 or up to a 17.

I actually like the rims so that's why I haven't went and bought any new ones. I haven't found a set of 8 lug rims that have that mag look. Shouldn't the truck still get traction? it's not like I'm trying to take turns at 90 mph just straight

for something temporarily throw sandbags in the bed
for a permenant setup put 1/4'' plate of steel in the back and weld it on top of your existing floor and put like a bedliner on top of that

I think I'll try the sand bags for a while Iguess. Where do u buy them? The shop it's in right now to replace the header gasket said the rear shocks need to be replaced do u guys think maybe that's causeing the slideing feeling when taking off?

you can find sand at lowes or home depot look for plastic bags if not paper will get wet and sand will be all over the place pick up 6 50lbs bags and that should do the trick and this little mofd will run you like $10.00 Max
