I have a 85 Chevy C10 and the old shift indicator never worked. I have a new one but can't figure out where the cable attaches to. I know to the shifter but cant seem to see anywhere it attaches. I need help

yeah its just right on the top of the column...btw why do you need it just count the clicks dawg, thats what ive always done....

It clips onto the same column shroud that the shift lever is attached to. The cable should have a clip on the end that slided over the lower edge of the shroud. you will have to move it one way or the other to get the indicator to line up with the shifter.
