Looking at a 87 gmc with 350 tbi & 400 trans 4x4. Does anyone have any suggestions on things I should be looking for that could be wrong with this vehicle.
    Thanks

I would check the body out for dings or rust. Then check the engine and look for any leaks or faulty parts. Listen to the engine and see if there is any wierd idel sounds. Also check to make sure you can turn it off in park after driving it because when i got mine i didnt do that and it hasnt been able to for a long time without making a diesal sound or backfiring. I am no expert but i would ask 5-8 chevy or low84 those guys know their stuff. Hope that helps a little my friend.

May not look like much but its going to turn some heads when i am done!

Would it make you feel better if you knew it was the same motor that was in the '88's?

    Check:
    Cab corners,
    Rockers (under the truck too)
Floorboards (under the door trim and under the carpet... pull it up!)
Core support/inner fender on the passenger side where the battery is.
Door bottoms (get on the ground, look up)
    Floor supports under the cab.
Make sure the A/C works, heater works, guages work, accessories work (pw, pdl, cruise, radio)
