I'm planning on doing this with my truck after the body rots off (the northeast is tough on trucks) I've seen this done with a 56 ford and a 80's bronco has any one seen it done with a chevy? got pictures?

Well I think it would be easier to mount a straight axle setup to the stock frame rather than trying to mount the body to a new frame.

Is it going to be 2WD or 4WD? If your going to build a 2WD go with an S-10 chassis. I built two trucks about 4 years ago. The first was a 50 Chevy panel van and the second was a 47 shortbox. both of them got a 78 camaro subframe and both of them also had problems with the tires sticking out a little to far and rubbing the sidewalls on the inside of the fender lip. The 78-87 G-body chassis(montes, regals, grandprix and cutlass) use the same front end parts as the S-10 but they use coils in the back. The S-10 is a little narrower (about 4 inches) than the G-body and the G-body is about 2 inches narrower than the camaro stub.
