    Re: Adhesive removal

x2. I used a 3M eraser wheel that I bought at an auto paint supply store when I did the ones on my Tahoe. I put it in my cordless drill and it took that adhesive off like a champ. Just don't let the surface get too hot. It's good to do a section and then move to a different one and work your way back and forth.

if there is a thick layer of it, you can try to scrape off as much as you can, without scraping the paint. Then use goo-gone. Worked for me!

Eraser wheel always took most of for me. After that I use wd40 or tar and greaser remover that you can get with painting accessories at any parts store or even Walmart.

Paint thinner works well, can pick it up at almost any general auto parts store. Just don't leave it on for extended periods.

    Re: Adhesive removal

goo gone...i suggest saturating the area and letting it sit for a while. i took off the chevorlet lettering that was on my tail gate. at first i used a hot blow dryer gun(cant remember the name of that thing) and i got rather impatient and i just kind of ripped the letters off and it left some adhesive on the tail gate. i then tried to heat up the adhesive and scrape it off but all it did was burn the adhesive and turn it a yellow brown color. i then read onlin that goo gone worked for removing sticky adhesive. so i basically drenched the area with goo gone and let it sit for an hour a little longer and the sticky residue just kind of slid off, didnt have to scrub much.
