I have horrible water spots on my windshield. It produces a bad glare at night with other cars headlights and is really becoming a safety factor. What can I do to get rid of them?

You have to polish them out. You can use a mild rubbing compound to get it off. Try a small section to be sire that you are not using too rough of a compund. I am sure that 3M has something for the glass. Try a paint supply house they should carry what ever you need.

    Good luck,
    Tim

I used some Budnik wheel polish and a hand held buffer. I tried everything and I mean everything (about 15 different things around the house) to get some hard water spots off my glass. Finally I said the h*ll with it and tried some Budnik wheel polish. They looked factory new, or at least until I washed my truck again.

TRY SPRAYING A GOOD GLASS CLEANER AND THEN RUB THE GLASS WITH STEEL WOOL. THE WATER SPOTS SHOULD COME OFF.

I use "Bar Keepers Friend". It is very similar to Comet but is very fine and polishes the glass like new. You can find it at any Wal-Mart/K-Mart in the cleaning section.

And if that doesn't work, use uncut white vinegar on a rag. If those 2 don't work you need to polish your windows. Best way to this is with a Porter Cable and this kit: http://www.properautocare.com/glaspolkit.html

My GFs car had tons of spots on the windows, after vinegar, claying and polishing they were still there. I bought this kit and haven't looked back.

The Bar Keepers Friend works magic! I rubbed it in with a wet cloth and them followed with a 0000 steel wool pad, and follow up with a windex cleaning. No more spots, that stuff is great. Windex alone wouldn't even touch the spots. I am a believer now!

try using your clay bar on the windshield. thats what i do whenever there is stuff that wont come off..then use your favorite glass cleaner (stoners or sprayway) to get the residue off...it has never failed me..
