What is the gas mileage for the 6.5L turbo diesel engine?
Wide range. Depends on the truck. A 4 wheel drive dually will get 13 or so on the highway and a 2 wheel drive 1/2 ton single may get more than 20.
I have a 3/4 ton Suburban 4x4 and I have gotten as high as 19.5 on the highway, but recently average 17, but that is pulling a cargo trailer and loaded.
96 K2500 GMC Suburban 6.5TD with lots of miles
We have a 2000 Crew Cab, 4X4 Dually. We get 13-13.5 in town and 17-18 at 62mph. Any faster (even 65) and we can count the mpg drop horribly, it seems to bottom around 12mpg.

i have a 94 k2500 suburban and get 15-17 in mixed driving with 4.10s. Gearing makes a big difference especially if u do alot of highway driving.
