Im doing a caddy front end swap, and I'd like to have that same gold colored pearl they have on the Escalades. My truck is currently white, would it be possibly to just spray a gold pearl clear coat over top? Or will I need to respray the whole truck with a gold pearl paint?

You can put the pearl over the factory paint withoue spraying the base coat. Keep in mind that if your white is different it will not be EXACTLY like the escalade.
BTW, this is the way the it is done with pearl flames.

Oh alright cool. I know it won't be exactly the same, but I should be able to get it fairly close no?
Depends on the base color. Pearl is just added to the clear.Originally Posted by StylinMike

by the way guys, i believe cadillac , or GM, whichever, still has the patent on the original color. thats why you havent seen any other new cars that same color of even near it. that pearl is fine though.

"In our darkest hour...we look to the sky. With a silent prayer...BELIEVE God's on our side. In the land where FREEDOM reigns...and where eagles fly."
I had my Fleetwood done that way and it looked good. The body shop used a light gold pearl in the clear and it came out really nice. Cheaper than doing it the way the factory does too.
