it dont look right theres still rust on the edges, i thought you were supposed to cut all the mrusted metal off and then replace it with new sheet metal

That is a cheap crappy way of doing it. You would be better off replacing the metal and then using body filler. Body filler and mesh is not strong enough. It will crack and fall off. Now if you are going to sell the car it might hold up for 6 months.
