OBS Escalade roof rails ???Question???

I have a 99 OBS Tahoe... I was wondering if the stock mounting holes would line up with the Escalade roof rails. I really wanted to just remove the stock
luggage rails but those expanding nuts stick out about a quarter of an inch and it'll look pretty ghetto unless I cut them down and weld it then prep and
paint it. Tell me what you OBS/NBS SUV guys have done to your roof rails.

You can get some black or body colored moulding that goes over the holes http://www.customautotrim.com/produc...dy_5eights.htm

For my nbs i painted the plastic pieces to match the body, and i am in the process of polishing the rails, just trying to do a diffrent spin off the escalade roof racks

You can buy billet plates from Empire Motorsports that cover the holes. That's what I did on the Yukon. I'm so used to them that I pretty much forget they're there unless I'm washing it.

Thanks for the great ideas guys... nobody chimed in on the stock hole locations but i'm gonna decide from here. The billet ones look nice,
maybe i could paint them to match the color of my Tahoe.

Considering that they came off the same line, I really would have a tough time believing that the hole pattern would be different. Unfortunately, I can't think of anyone that has a factory Escalade that would be able to give us dimensions to confirm whether or not the spacing would be different. Heck, I can only think of one OBS Denali owner right offhand. The Denali is even closer to the Escalade, so I'm pretty confident that would at least have the same hole pattern for you to reference...

As long as you're trying to put the OBS Escalade roof rack on an OBS 4-door Tahoe or Yukon, I am 100% sure that the holes will line up. Like Chuggs says, there's no good reason why trucks that are the same body would have the holes drilled differently.

awsome... i took a section of my rails off and thought those expanding nuts would be flush somewhat... but geez they looked like erect nipples.

OK so i get off my butt and start working on the rails again... got those billet caps and silicone ready... come to find out
that some of the torx screws are not budging.. stripped 1 and i had to cut it... don't wanna do that anymore.. any suggestions
on getting them out besides wd40?
