Okay, i just aquired a set of stocker steelies off of an astro van... I really dig the huge whitewalls, and baby/half-moon hubcaps on hot rods and stuff.. but i was wondering would those half moon hubcaps fit on any old steel rim( like the ones i just got...), or did the old '50's rims have like a special lip for the babymoon hubcaps to fit? anyone know what im talkin about?.?., i wanna change the look of the trucks rims to something not so stock as she sits on now, but im not sure if these caps would work or not on the rims i just picked up.. or do i have to get a set of rims from that era to have the caps stick on.,.. thanks guys ..

do the wheels have little nubs around the center? this is what would hold the caps on...i went to the junkyard and got my steelies off of late model Caprice's...they're 15x7's...mine are like these:

if you look close, you can see the nubs i was referring to that hold the cap on...i'm pretty sure the ones you have should be similar

IMO it depend on the wheel. My buddy has an '85 Grand Marquis and one day he decided to put a set of baby moons on it. Just went out, bought 'em and threw 'em on, no issues. Go pick up a set of the moons you want and and see if they fit. If not just go to the wreckers and pick up some other steelies, should be cheap and plentiful. On second thought maybe just bring the rim you have to the store and just ask them if you can try it on the rim to see if it'll fit ?

yup, check for those. i was looking at steelies at the junkyard a while back, all the trucks had them but the vans i saw didn't. BUT i have seen some vans with steelies and the hubcaps...i guess it just depends

if your wheels have those nubs, you can get the same moon caps as i have...i got mine from Coker Tire...not in my sig, but here's a pic of them with the trim rings added too
