I have been searching all over the place for a OEM paintable grill for my 02 chev 2500HD.
I asked my buddy in a body/paintshop if he could strip the chrome off the one I got and paint it and he said the acids from the chrome plating soaks into the plastic and makes painting it a bitch I guess.
So where can I get a paintable oem complete grill for my HD? I plan on adding a billet or mesh grill insert with a Victory Red center bar with a Black Bowtie, I think it would look pretty slick. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys, Ryan

The acids from the chrome plating? It's just Plastichrome on there, not real chrome. When it gets old enough, it'll peel off on it's own. But I had a '98 S-10 ZR2 and I had my painter paint the "chrome" center bar...he scuffed it really well, used adhesion promoter and put lots of clear over the paint. It lasted the 2+ years I drove it like that before I sold it w/ no chipping...and that's in NY with the salty winters, etc. It's all in the prepwork.
That grill 67Turbo posted won't work, it's for a 1/2 ton, the HD grill is different.
'01 Silverado Ext. Cab Z71 LT Sunset Orange Metallic / Corsa / Goodmark Cowl Hood / Colormatched / '05 Tails / Tahoe Grill w/ Billet / Lowered 1.25"-2" / 22" 026s / 305-45 Kumho STXs
I think I found a grill on partstrain.com its all chrome. Then that would give me a some time to strip and poaint the old one.
