I'm fixing to order some platinum type 35's. upgrading from 20's to 22's. i'd like to know what offset, backspace, etc. i need. i plan on getting 305-40-22 tires on them. i also need to know how much of a hit my truck will take as far as power and mileage. if any, wasn't very noticeable with the 20's but anyway any help will be appreciated.
sorry it froze up and i posted 3 seperate threads.
i have 265/35 and a 40mm offset. i noticed a little loss of power and it was harder to brake as well

its not a dramatic change though is it?Originally Posted by ur2hi

I think i might have some pics on here...ill try to search my computer for ya... as far as backspacing....im not sure what rims they were but they tucked (fenders rolled) all the way around on a 4/6 so its possible. As far as mileage goes....he always seemed to get better mileage than me even with the 22s and i had light ass 20 inch eagle alloys. Pissed me off. He didnt have the best brakes so there wasnt a comparison. The power was still there for sure but we both have rebuilt 355 tbi's with all new components.

I got 22s with 305/40 tires on my 94 ECSB and there was a dramatic change in braking. It feels really sluggish but there was not a big change in gas mileage, just a bit. My truck only has the 2" rear drop shackles. Everything else is stock.

Im running 22's on my ride in sig and it has 3/4 ton brakes so no real problem there, also had the same wheels on a 1998 suburban and really notice a diff in brakes, I would recommend an upgrade, as far as power, no noticeable change.

1997 ECSB, stock, but not for long
can you post a pic of your truck. thats the same thing i want to do with my suspension, just use shackles on the back to level it. because that size wheel and tire will fill out the wheel well good.Originally Posted by 94stepside5.7
Do you have pictures of your truck as it sits now? I have a obs rcsb with the same drop and I just sold my 20's with plans of getting 22's. I'm looking at either the same size tire you have or 265/40/22. So not to thread jack, anyone with pics of an obs on 22's post up!Originally Posted by Twiz
