Wanting some input here on wether i shoild do the caddy conversion onto the front of my truck.

Right now it has the W/T style grill on it, so i was going to get a regular chrome grill, get the Clear Headlights/Turn Signals/Corners, also do a Smoothie bumper.

But than i got to thinking what bout the caddy conversion? My fenders, and hood both have some dents, and would need body work, so doign the swap would just save on that. Also i think it would look nicer. But the thing is im not going to have a lowered truck. This truck is going to be lifted. Will it still look good? I really think the caddy conversion is the way to go, but i wanted some more input from yall.

Heres a picture of the front end right now.

    Thanks for the input.

Depends on what the rest of the truck looks like. There is a 96ish ext cab 4x4 here in town that somebody did a nice conversion on, but then the new owners put a chrome toolbox and all the usual redneck stuff and it just made the whole thing look like ass. Just depends on what else you want to do to the truck.
If you are making a trail rig, I say no caddy clip. Also if you caddy clip the roof lights have got to go!

well just to give you an idea, this truck will most likely sit on 53" military tires. Truck will cruise the town on fridays, than proceed to be a mud bog truck on saturday, and get cleaned up sunday. so i want the truck to look as good as possible. I just think the caddy clip will add that little touch of class, where as the chrome grill will just make it look like a normal truck. i was looking at the 02+ caddy clips i like that style caddy better, but i dont know how well it fits the OBS.

I wouldn't do it if you are gonna do the rest of the mods you spoke of above. I think the chevy front end would look alot meaner and aggressive than the caddy clip.

    word
If I was build a huge trail rig, I would use the front clip from a top kick, or OBS 3500HD. That would look mean as hell.

Re: To Caddy Clip or Not

well its not just a trail rig, Like i said i want it to be nice also, im redoing the interior, dont know if yall seen the thread on that... But this truck will also serve as the tow rig for the CJ7 when it gets done, that will be the real trail rig, this on is just a mud/cruising truck. lol im not one of those people that is dead set on doing something even though i asked for an opion, and that im not going to listen to others, im by no means dead set on the caddy clip, so any other ideas, toss them out. whats the 3500HD front end look like? i thought they had the same front end as the 1500s...

only thing i seen dif on it was the extra filler panel between the grill and the bumper...

and i understand bout goign lower, it is a great price, and if i can come up with the cash, trust me i will buy one, but i also just found a good deal on the tires im going to run, so many hard decisions, with so little money...
