Okay my truck is going to look very similar to this one when completed but with larger street wheels and tires. Larger like larger then Demon's in the rear to give you an idea of what I'm going for. With that being said one of the things I have noticed at shows and on other stepside prostreet pics is the placement of a narrowed and tubbed OBS prostreet axle gives the appearance that the rear tires are narrower than the front two tires.

In some cases this is true and it looks stupid, and in some cases it is more of an illusion and might be able to be overcome with backspacing tweaking but for those of you who have cut and axle or had one cut, you know 1/2 inch makes a world of difference and you really only get one chance to do it right.

In the spirit of thinking ahead I went ahead and planned on shaving the lip on the rear fenders, but I feel it is going to weaken that edge and cause cracks.

How hard would it be to add about an inch to the width of th estepside fenders ?? Like just enough to make somebody look twice to see what was different ? If so then should I slice the entire fender in half at the center and add there or add to the slope where it bolts under the metal piece on the bed ? Either way is going to be hard as hell. I even though about getting a dually fender and shaving it down and molding it in but I believe OBS fenders are plastic and I don't want a dually look....I just want a **bit** wider than stock to get tho MT's under there comfortably.

As I'm wrapping up the dash project the bed is coming out of storage and I have been thinking about doing this a long time. The fenders are already primed and shaved so I'd be starting from scratch which sucks.

Not only would CT destroy his soul with demeaning and hurtful words in concise sentences, he'd sick a goddamn badger on him, then post about it on FSC.

Should we rename this the "bolt-on only exterior" forum or did I post in the wrong place ?

Im sure it can be done. I have seen several people cut and move the fenders up to tuck large wheels with a dodydrop but not make them wider. Be the first to do it!!! ;-) just seems like it will be a major pain!Be sure to keep us updated as to what you decide. Good luck
