finding wheels for a 97 2 door yukon

Well i want to do something to make this truck stand out but seeing as how its my DD a 6" lift and full offroad equipment isnt happening in the immediate future.

i realized that nothing will have as big an impact as a nice set of truck wheels.



i just bought a set of 265/75 16 bfg all terains

did a little search and was reading some of these trucks only had like 6.5" wide wheels? how in the world do you run a 265 tire on a 6.5" wheel.

figure with the 265 i can run something in a nice 16x7

ive never looked for truck wheels only been into cars, so i dont even really know where to look. NOT looking for bling want a good looking functional truck rim

some of those might fit, what offset and backspacing do i need.
i believe its a 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern.

also what width rim should i be running on that 265 tire.

Get a 16x8. It'll stick out more and give it a wide look.

yeah i would go with 8 inch. i have 10 inch on mine and i love it but thats way to wide for 265.

ya that makes sense to me, 265 should look good on an 8

what companies do you guys reccomend for serious truck wheels that are going to look trail rated and not be high maintenance, not looking for bling here.

i have always liked american racing. i have had three sets and they have all held up great. just get aluminum. its a little bit more expensive but in the long run you will love them. i switched of to steel chrome wheels because i got them cheap and they are already starting to rust... it makes me regret putting new tires on them. if u are strapped for cash you could always check craigslist. 16x8 is a popular size and you could probably get a set for cheap

ya i checked them out, nothing really jumped out at me as far as what i want though.

I'm starting to wonder what are the odds with stock suspension if its even possible (and if its even vaguely possible, im sure ill manage to do it) that i could ever put myself in a position where i find myself going, i wish i had beadlocks to get out of this.
On top of that i had once in my parents mini-van where i lost control of the vehicle way up north in the snow belt up here and it spun out quite comfortably into a snow bank, but the side force of the tire hitting the snow was just enough to brake the bead. If i do end up in a field or something what are the odds a side load could brake the bead? Protection from that might be quite nice.

its only a 265/75 16 tire so i guess theres only so far you could air them down. Theyre just not that much more expensive, and i wouldnt bother with a set of fake beadlocks cause thats just corny.

Allied wheel only has one model thats street legal but they seem to be associated with raceline wheels who have a few models available.

Sugestions?

EDIT: upon closer inspection, i really like the raceline renegade-6 wheel but only the fake beadlocks come in varous sizes, the real beadlocks only come in 17x9 booo

EDIT #2: I found a bunch of pictures of blacked out american racing mojave rims and they look pretty sweet in black. Seeing as how my tires are already ordered and a lift isnt in my immediate future, i think ill probably pick up a set of these and run the tires down to half tread then sell them as a package and upgrade to some beadlocks seeing as how they only seem to come in 17" sizes.
