I am ordering my tires and wheels this week and both the toyo at and the nitto terra grappler come in the size I am getting so I'm deciding which to get an they both have mixed reviews. Have any of you used either an can shed some light on which may be the better tire? I think the nitto looks a little more aggressive which I like.

IMO, Terra Grapplers suck, they wear really fast...and suck offroad, however I cannot speak from experience on the toyos.

I have read this same review bout tread wear and traction more than once...then some people say great tread wear and great traction so idk who to believe hahahaha....I know mud grapplers are HORRIBLE for road use but the all terrains seem like they should be better???

The terra grapplers on our trucks at work are louder and wearing faster than the bfg ats they are replacing. Never heard a bad report on toyos though.

Actually just realized that the general grabber at2 comes in that size too but only if 4wheel parts has it in stock because when I went to tire Discounters to get a price they said the at2 was on back order from the factory with no expected ship date

I used to sell Toyos, and sold a ton of the A/Ts. As long as you keep them rotated, they'll last a long time. They tend to cup a bit if you don't, but that's just common sense vehicle maintenance. They're great on the highway too, we took my buddy's Tundra fishing about 1 1/2 hour away and you couldn't hear them at all, on any road surface.

The only thing people didn't like was the price (they were our top-of-the-line tire), but I've heard the same thing about Nittos.

From my experience the Toyos will last longer with proper rotation.

My tire guy told me the same thing about the General AT2's in my size. Couldn't get them, no expected ship date... got the same answer from another tire shop. Local big-box chain store had them on sale, 4 for the price of 3, and got me my size in 2 days. Cash and carried them (no way these guys were touching my truck or wheels) and had my tire guy install them. He was shocked I got my hands on a set, turns out the bix box stores have thier own distribution network that the real tire shops can't access.

I'm pretty happy with these Grabber's. Quieter than the BFG ATs they replaced, and way bigger for being the same size.

    Re: Nitto vs toyo

just ordered them...4wheelparts had bout the same price as everywhere else i tried...bout 400 bucks cheaper than tire discounters too. I went with the 285/60/r18 Toyo AT. Wanted the grabber AT2 but they were on backorder through 4wheelparts too so I went with the toyos.
