For those that have had their truck repainted: How much?

I have been looking into getting my truck repainted. It is a 2001 ECSB Chev in limited run Yellow. I just got a quote from the local body shop to paint the entire truck the same colour, including the following:

• Repaint hood and racing stripes (hood only)
• Colour match grill (will be a new unit)
• Upper and Lower bumper caps
• Mirrors
• Door handles
• Steel Roll Pan
• Weld up all bolt holes in tailgate and install handle relocator kit
• remove box to paint back of cab and front of box

Hours break down to:

• Paint hours 33
• Repair hours 6
• RE:RE hours 7.5 (total time to remove parts to assist the painting process

Total hours 46.5
Total Labour 3255.00
Total Parts 115.00
Total Materials 1222.50
Eviro fee 6.00
Freight 15.00

Total cost pre tax 4613.50
Total cost post tax 5167.13

What is your take on this? Keep in mind I am from a small town (5000 ppl) in Canada. The next paint shop is a 4 hour drive away and probably not much cheaper.

That actually does not sound that bad.
I had a quote to replace both cab corners, remove the trim and paint ONLY the bottom portion of the two tome and it was 3200 bucks.

Thats good to know, and I see that is even a Canadian quote. The only body work would be a small dent right at the bottom of the tailgate and at the top of the roll pan, and the bolt holes and relocation of the tail gate handle.

I just want to get a few opinions before I give them the go ahead. So many plans, not enough money

Sounds like a decent price for a complete repaint, and they are even pulling the bed to do the cab, most shops don't bother with the back of the cab.

that sounds like a really reasonable price. If someone were to come in to my shop to get all that done it would run at least 6k canadian by the time all is said and done properly.

thats a nice price for a repaint plus extras. i did a 2001 integra last summer the whoel jdm front end, shaved side moldinging, an repainted the entire car, charged the kid 4600. but for what you are asking its a damn decent deal.
